Purpose of Programme

The Programme is designed to support parents following separation to manage conflict constructively and remain focused on their children’s needs. It aims to minimise the harmful impact of ongoing parental conflict, strengthen communication and decision-making, and promote greater stability and emotional security for children across two homes.

Additional Resources

  • Participants are offered optional one-to-one follow-up coaching with course facilitators to support implementation in their individual circumstances.
  • An additional follow-up session focused specifically on managing high-conflict communication is available.
  • The programme also provides practical communication tools and signposting to mediation, legal information, and specialist support where appropriate.

Safeguarding Measures

  • The programme is delivered online in a live format and sessions are not recorded.
  • Groups are gender-specific, and separated parents from the same family do not attend the same course.
  • Child welfare remains central throughout. Clear boundaries are set regarding confidentiality.
  • All facilitators are trained in safeguarding practice and operate under a formal safeguarding policy, with appropriate referral and reporting procedures in place where concerns arise.

Providers Qualifications

The programme is delivered by experienced family mediators and parenting practitioners working within Our Kids First (OKF), a UK charity supporting families through separation. Facilitators have over five years’ experience supporting families in separation and high-conflict situations and are trained in safeguarding practice. The team brings professional expertise in mediation, conflict resolution, child-focused family work, and structured divorce coaching.
